Essays, reports, laws, speeches, political catechisms, songs, satires, and fictitious dialogues concerning education, including political instruction for the public. Topics include proposals for schools and for the national educational system, plans for curricula, education and "citoyenneté," the role of the Convention Nationale and Conseil des Cinq-Cents, the Ecole des Sourds Muets, and the Ecole Centrale des Travaux Publics, renamed the Ecole Polytechnique in 1795. b Authors represented include Jacques Louis David, François Lanthenas, Henri Grégoire, Bertrand Barère, the Marquis de Condorcet, Maximilien Robespierre, Pierre Toussaint Durand de Maillane, and the Convention Nationale's Comité de Salut Public and Comité d'Instruction Publique.
